Sanitized enough!

Many of you would have spent the weekend trying to stock up food, groceries, disinfectants, sanitizers, tissue papers, masks, etc. and cleaning every nook and corner of the house and pretty much sailed through a heavy weekend of prepping for isolating.

But, man is a social animal. And as Social distancing becomes the new buzzword, the real challenges of it are coming to the fore. Here is a list of things to surve through this lockdown with your sanity intact.

  1. Spruce up your culinary skills

Well, not going out to eat and no outside food coming in the house makes this the perfect time to detox your body from all the bingeing and dusting up your dishing skills.

  2. Sweat it out for that Summer body

Staying fit is important. While you cannot do much about missing your regular gym, you can still stay fit. Start those Home Exercise videos and exercise at home to avoid gaining weight.

  3. Hone your gaming skills

Playing board games is one of the best ways to spend time together as a family. Not only does it bring out the child in you, but you can teach important life lessons to your children through board games.

  4. Do some mindful reading

Instead of constantly checking forwards or jokes on the corona virus, spend time doing quality reading.

  5. Acquire a skill

The lockdown is not indefinite but definite enough to give you enough time to learn something new. Thanks to technology, you actually can take up a course or a hone your skills by taking up e-courses online.

  6. Make a vision board for yourself instead of constantly fretting about your portfolio

Instead of reviewing your portfolio every hour and sending your blood pressure up, spend this time creating a vision board for yourself and your family and work out a plan to achieve it. Equity Mutual Funds are long-term investments and you should not fret over the current market volatility. You can read our blog on tackling the pandemic anxiety.

  7. Protect your lungs - Make your house greener

We all realise the importance of fresh air but honestly do very little to make our environment healthy. Gardening should no more be a hobby but an important part of our life, after all, we all can use a little bit of fresh air in the house. So, dig in some mud and make your surroundings greener. Use this time for the initial spadework and when you go back to being busy it will be easier to spare a few minutes every day to keep your lungs healthy.

  8. Chalk a Work from Home Plan

You and your spouse may both be working from home. Amidst all the distractions, chalk out a time-table and designated work zones for all the calls & video meetings instead of getting on to each other’s nerves all the time. Act fast before a complain box opens and starts firing in unknown directions for unknown reasons.

The final word

The virus is spreading each day and there is not much that we can do apart from being indoors. But instead of cribbing, use this lockdown as an opportunity and focus your energies on spending your time constructively.

Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully.
